UAE continues to ease coronavirus restrictions, allows more people into malls, restaurants
DUBAI: The UAE is to allow more people into its malls and restaurants, while continuing to take precautionary measures to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus.
Under the new rules up to 60 percent of the total capacity will be allowed to enter, state news agency WAM reported.
A maximum of four people will be allowed at each table, the health ministry and the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) said in a statement, adding that tables will remain 2 meters apart.
Hand sanitizers must also be available and waiting areas should remain closed, while restaurants should provide diners with disposable cutlery, the statement added.
Meanwhile masks must be worn at all times – except when eating in restaurants, the health ministry and NCEMA said.
The Dubai Economy said all economic sectors can return to normal working hours, while adhering to preventive measures, including placing physical-distancing stickers, wearing masks and gloves, providing sanitizer, and checking body temperature of all people in the workplace.
The Dubai Economy also urged people to use smart and contactless payment methods in order to ensure their safety.
